About the Author

I am a fantasy and science fiction author that recently joined the Linn County Air Quality Division as an Air Quality Engineer. I have degrees in Geology and Environmental Engineering from James Madison University and the University of Connecticut, respectively. Does that qualify me to write fantasy and sci-fi? Maybe, maybe not. In the end, it only matters whether you like the stories that I tell.

The authors that most influence my style are Brandon Sanderson, Jim Butcher, Greg Bear, Orson Scott Card, and Patrick Rothfuss, not necessarily in that order. I don’t try to emulate anyone’s style, but I write what I love to read, which are fun and engaging stories with epic moments of pure awesome. I try to avoid getting on a soapbox and preaching about some moral or political standpoint in my stories; I’m tall enough, thank you very much. That being said, I do try to have themes in my work that can be points for discussion. I’d be happy to discuss any of these with readers if you’d like to reach out to me.

I currently live in North Liberty, IA with my wife, our son, and our three cats.
